Heesen’s Oss shipyard has reallocated its production lines to prioritize the 50–70 metre displacement segment, consolidating steel and aluminium fabrication under full Dutch control to improve lead times and quality oversight.
Recent guidance and incident investigations now make it clear that lithium-ion batteries must not be stored under berths or in lockers that vent into cabins or wheelhouses; ventilation, forced extraction and isolation from accommodation spaces are mandatory design considerations to reduce the risk of vapour cloud explosion (VCE) and toxic fume accumulation.
