Superyacht charter in Spain by the numbers: cities and day rates

GetBoat Blog

Superyacht charter in Spain by the numbers: cities and day rates

Spain has 365 listings of yachts of 24–61 m (79–200 ft) in the GetBoat catalogue, and more than a third of them are in one place. Ibiza accounts for 131 listings, or 35.9% of the Spanish total. Palma de Mallorca follows with 67 and Barcelona with 28; the three cities together hold 226 listings, 61.9% of Spain's 24 m+ supply. Stated day rates differ as well: the median in Ibiza is €6,816 per day, against €4,650 in both Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona.

Every figure in this article comes from GetBoat's own listings, counted on 5 October 2026. They describe what is listed and, where a listing states a day rate, what it asks: a snapshot of supply on one date. That total covers every listing of 24 m+, including yachts offered for sale only. Of those, 153 state a day rate in euros after the outlier rule set out under "How we measured" (156 before it).

Where Spain's 24 m+ yachts are listed, city by city

The table covers every Spanish city with at least ten listings of 24 m or more. A median day rate appears only where ten or more listings in that city state a day rate in euros.

How to read the table. "With a day rate" is the number of 24 m+ listings in that city with a stated day rate in euros, counted after the outlier rule set out under "How we measured". The same applies to the tables below. Only those listings feed the median day rate. Where fewer than ten listings state a day rate, the cell shows "—". Listings that name only the country count towards Spain's 365 and sit in no city row; the number is given under "How we measured".

Ibiza leads on two measures. It has the most large yachts in absolute terms and the highest share of large yachts among the cities in the table: 131 of its 2,111 listings, or 6.2%, are 24 m or longer. Barcelona's share is 5.1% (28 of 553) and Palma de Mallorca's is 4.6% (67 of 1,454). Torrevieja is the only other city where ten or more listings state a day rate; its median is €4,185 per day across 10 listings. Marbella has 12 listings of 24 m+, 7 of them with a day rate, too few for a median.

The listed fleets in Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca are of similar age. The median build year of 24 m+ yachts is 2007 in Ibiza (113 listings state a year) and 2006 in Palma de Mallorca (59 listings). Barcelona's listed 24 m+ yachts are older, with a median build year of 2000 across 23 listings.

Why the table shows cities

For the listings counted here, the location is a city or only the country, taken from the catalogue's list of locations; one listing of the 365 gives a marina or port instead. The separate marina field is empty on all 196,633 own live listings, so no count by marina is possible. For the marinas themselves, the blog already has a guide to the main yachting marinas in Spain, a piece on Barcelona's marinas and anchorages and a round-up of Ibiza's marinas. This article adds the layer those guides leave out: how many large yachts are listed in each city and what day rates those listings state.

Size bands: how big Spain's listed superyachts are

Most of Spain's large listed yachts sit at the lower end of the range. Of the 365 listings, 261 are under 99 ft (about 24–30 m), 65 are from 99 to under 132 ft (about 30–40 m) and 39 are 132 ft or longer (about 40–61 m).

99 to under 132 ft (about 30–40 m)6518€9,7478—
132 ft and over (about 40–61 m)395—7—

The step in day rate between bands is steep. The median stated rate for listings under 99 ft is €4,650 per day across 130 listings; for 99 to under 132 ft it is €9,747 across 18. At 132 ft and over only five listings state a day rate in euros, too few for a median. Sale prices are rarer: 32 of the 365 listings carry one. The only band with ten or more is under 99 ft, where 17 listings give a median of €1,395,000.

The biggest listed yachts cluster in Palma de Mallorca. The city has 12 listings of 132 ft and over, compared with 7 in Ibiza, even though Ibiza has about twice as many 24 m+ listings overall (131 against 67). The five cities from the first table split across the three bands as follows.

How Spain compares with Greece, Croatia, Italy, France and Turkey

Spain's 365 listings of 24 m+ sit within a catalogue of 15,016 Spanish listings, so large yachts make up 2.4% of the country's supply. That share is close to those of Greece, Croatia, Italy and France, and far below Turkey's. Greece has 1,085 listings of 24 m+ out of 30,026 (3.6%), Croatia 909 of 29,831 (3.0%), Italy 768 of 23,483 (3.3%), France 413 of 18,891 (2.2%) and Turkey 3,271 of 11,290 (29.0%).

The median stated day rate for a 24 m+ yacht in Spain is €5,115, from 153 listings with a day rate in euros. France is higher at €5,766 (89 listings). Greece (€4,966 from 431 listings), Croatia (€4,922 from 493) and Italy (€4,610 from 216) are a little lower, and Turkey (€2,186 from 2,135) is far lower.

How to read these numbers

  • Compare within one size band. In Spain the median day rate is €4,650 for listings under 99 ft and €9,747 for 99 to under 132 ft, so a city median blends whatever mix of sizes that city happens to list.
  • Check the count behind each median. Ibiza's €6,816 rests on 62 listings; Torrevieja's €4,185 on 10.
  • A stated day rate is the price shown on the listing on 5 October 2026. It is not a booking or a sign that the yacht is free on any given date.
  • For charter, the data stops at the stated day rate. Weekly rates, APA, VAT and fuel are not counted here. For what makes up the cost of a charter in Spain, see the blog's guide to the cost of yachting in Spain; for itineraries, the Balearic Islands routes and anchorages guide.
  • Prices are in euros only. Listings priced in another currency count towards the listing totals and are left out of every price median. Medians of length use all 24 m+ listings, whatever the currency of the price. Medians of build year use the listings that state a year: 113 in Ibiza, 59 in Palma de Mallorca and 23 in Barcelona.

The Ibiza listings on GetBoat, all sizes, are in the GetBoat Ibiza catalogue.

How we measured

  • Pool. Live listings published on GetBoat itself, counted on 5 October 2026 at 13:01 UTC. Listings syndicated from four partner platforms are excluded.
  • Size. A stated length of 79–200 ft (about 24–61 m). Length is recorded in feet on each listing; the metre figures in this article are approximate equivalents. Bands: under 99 ft, 99 to under 132 ft, 132 ft and over.
  • Place. The location named on the listing, taken from the catalogue's location list. Of the 365 Spanish listings of 24 m+, 323 name a city, 41 name only the country and 1 names a marina or port. The 41 appear in the Spain totals, not in the city rows. Marina-level counts are not possible, as explained above. Two spellings were merged: "Palma" into "Palma de Mallorca" and "City of Barcelona" into "Barcelona".
  • Prices. The latest price set by the listing itself, in euros, taken separately for the daily charter rate and the sale price. No currency conversion was applied.
  • Outliers. Day rates below €300 or above €100,000, and sale prices below €100,000 or above €100,000,000, were removed before any median was calculated. In Spain this removed 3 of 156 day rates and 1 of 33 sale prices. Every "With a day rate" and "With a sale price" count in this article is taken after this step. Elsewhere it removed 1 day rate and 1 sale price in France, 1 day rate each in Greece and Croatia, and 1 day rate and 4 sale prices in Italy. In Turkey it removed 6 day rates and 1 sale price.
  • Threshold. A median is published only where at least 10 listings carry the value in question: day rate, sale price, length or build year. Smaller groups are shown as "—".
  • What is missing. Marinas, for the reason given under Place; transactions, bookings, occupancy, seasonality, weekly rates, APA and VAT, which are not counted here; and individual yachts, by design.
